CONCEPT OF TRAVEL AND TOURISM FROM ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE

Based on the Islamic overview of God, man and nature, tourism is part of the Addin. Addin is a way of life, created by God and also the gift of God to us. From the Islamic point of view, human nature is absolutely free from all bad potentials, wrong tendencies and wrong belief. Also no criminal characteristic in inherent in human nature. Also, man and nature have two of which are contradictory to each other like the mentality of the spiritualists and that of the materialists. According to the spiritualists’ mentality, man in reality is composed of the boy and spirit. The spirit is eternal, and does not perish with death of the body and we may analyse the Islamic sources that confirm this perspective.

Next, travel (Penghijrahan) to Islam. Since Adam and Eve set their feet on earth and we have been in constant motion, the curiosity within us led us to always be on the move, to discover new lands, greener pastures, far away wonders, and to trade in all sort of things. In fact travel is encouraged in Islam, it is a means of contemplation, learning, and earning livelihood. One example is like the Prophet Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Madinah to spread the religion of Islam.
